New blog post... Finally!
Hey guys,
sorry its been absolutely forever since i last posted something on the blog,
being honest i just haven't managed to get the time to do it with work, music, music, eating nandos, music and work. But now here it is a new blog post to get you up to date with the past 2 months!
It will be a long one so i suggest you go get yourself comfortable haha!
So, continuing from the last post i mentioned that i will be working on my label Viral Beat Recordings again.... i really am, that weren't a lie! I've already got a handful of releases ready to be put out there with the first being released at the end of this month (hopefully if i manage to get it done on time!)
The first EP will be called Limitless EP and it will consist of 2 tracks, Limitless & Eliminate, i recently entered a competition with the track eliminate and ive had nothing but good feedback off it,
This is the B side of the release,
in a nutshell the first side is more of a danceable dub tune with a cheeky vocal sample whereas this is more of a 9 i like to call it) face melter, this is the type of track you wanna hear drop when your drunk and feel like exaggerating your dancing... theres also a cheeky hardstyle drop halfway through to switch things up!
I feel like im writing things in the wrong way because that is the most recent thing but ive got loads to say so i should've started at the beginning of February!
Right, doesn't matter ill continue!
I might aswell continue and work my way down backwards to confuse whoever is reading it!
so....
The guys who did this competition (the eliminate one) they also did a dj'ing competition (which is still running until 5/6th April 2012) in which you had to do a 30 minute mix and get 100 favourites and 500 plays, now im not doing too bad, ive got 20 odd favourites about 200 odd plays but i need more, so if it is before the date given above and you feel like doing your good deed for the day, i suggest this should be your good deed!

Good stuff!! right so moving on again, alot of people have been asking me about my youtube tutorials and they have been using actual phrases such as "KEV U R DA BEST ON UTUBE TUTIALZ WEN R U DOIN MUR?"
Now instead of being a bad person and burning him at the stake for the shocking use of the English language i decided to embrace the fact that there are ALOT of people waiting on my youtube tutorials
.... and i mean ALOT!

because the news one STILL aren't out yet!
but they will be very very very very soon!
Fast forward to 1:40 to hear a cheeky preview of the next series! it will be D&B, i actually finished the track about 2 months ago but i have been waiting on getting an introduction for my youtube videos done, and after alot of false promises and alot of love lost a guy finally helped me out (he just then realised how much of a pain in the ass i am, and i asked him to redo some parts of it about 10 times, so i think he is currently wishing death upon me!) but the wait will be worth it!!!
So yeah

(the hashtag was put there on purpose i didn't slip and hit it by accident... we are living in the twitter generation, i didn't wanna get left out!)
Now this will focus on little bit size tips, tricks and nibbles (i only said nibbles because i said bit size, im sticking with the food analogy) of music production tips and skills that will help you in and around your studio, im currently on the lookout for a good handheld video camera and voice recorder too for these so once i have them, the #MusicHacks©©©©©©©©©** will be up and raring to go!!
Nearly finished, how much of your drink have you got left? id say to refill but DONT that is unwanted calories!! you don't wanna have a jiggly belly especially with it coming up to beach season again!

if you like dubstep or anything faster than Moombahton.... come to the event too,

I could do with some help with my youtube layout and maybe even (when its up) somebody helping me out with the social networking of my record label, kind of like a... erm, i'd say receptionist but that will put people off, so ill say kind of like a cyberceptionist©©©©©©©©©***

Viral Beat Recordings MAKES ITS RETURN!!
Decided, because now it is 2012 its a brand new year i need to start releasing alot more of my original stuff. I initially started Viral Beat Recordings back at the beginning of 2011 with my first release when i was going under the name The Prototype,

It was a good release and it marked my step into the world of Dubstep but from there i continued to do my original stuff but i wanted to get myself more out there so i decided to just work on remixes and stuff, so i put all my original plans on hold for the time being,
and now, its a brand new year so i've decided to set my priorities, and my priority now is Viral Beat Recordings (VBR).
I've got a fan page set up so far and im currently in the process of working on a website and setting up the schedule for releases, there is alot of work that needs to be done but i'm gonna put the effort in and make sure 2012 is the year of VBR!!!
The label will focus on a variety of different genres from Dubstep, to Post Dubstep, Electro, Moombahton and more and will be a host to a handful of brand new artists ready to take each of the genres by storm!!

2012... My Year
So as i mentioned in my previous post entry before this, if i didn't make another blog post then happy christmas and new year!
well i didn't so yeah
MERRY BELATED CHRISTMAS & NEW YEAR!
Luckily for me, my year has gone off to a great start, not even out of the first month and i've already came 1st in a remix competition, thats 3 competitions in 6 months
First it was the chase & Status competition,

And a personal comment off Shadow himself!
And he even went on to review my remix personally!,
Scale It Back (Kev Willow Remix) As with Party Ben’s mix, Kev’s is technically flawless. From mix to arrangement to programming, there is NOTHING I would change. It is simply a perfect remix, with just the right balance of original elements and (incredible) new production.
This is a dubstep mix, and like many of you, I have heard my share of dubstep over the last couple of years, most of which I have liked, some I have not. Every style of dance music has a few innovators and hoards of copycats, which tends to dilute the music’s potency. At its best, I find dubstep to be exciting and visceral, much more aligned to my grimy hip-hop sensibilities than most other club music. Regardless of the genre (and Kev’s other soundcloud mixes show his versatility) talent deserves to be recognized, and Kev is a true talent, make no mistake. Wave down to me on your way to the top, Kev!
Now its one thing to have somebody say that track of mine is good, but its another thing for someone to say that a track of mine is flawless. in my (nearly) 8 years of production ive never had anyone say that so this is a huge huge huge thing for me. So high five me haha! :)
The track is to be released on Island Records, i only found out earlier on that Island records is home to some of my favourite artists too, Drake, Lil Wayne, Kid Cudi, Annie Mac, Damian Marley, Dj Shadow among others so this is (apart from the Chase & Status competition) the best thing ive ever won!
So I'm gonna continue to enter competition at a big that someone takes notice of me and give me the opportunity that i need.
Oh yeah and also,
So finally, a big name within the Dubstep scene has took notice of me, lets hope he tells the other "big dogs" about me haha!
Im just gonna continue to produce and hope for the best!

Haven't updated in a while but.....
Hey guys.
just writing as its been quite a while since i last did, ive been pretty busy fighting crime, drinking baileys and eating Nandos but i thought id just stop for 5 and give you the lowdown of what ive been doing!
So first of all MUSIC
I've been working on quite a lot of tracks both original and remixes, and also i've been diving into the world of complextro too and seeing what i can do with that genre,

The first 3 entries where made to be entered into a competition (i didn't win the diplo one sadly!) and the final one is an original track!

I've been talking to Whizzkid for a while now and we decided we will make a track together, after a load of different projects sent back and forth and me not being happy with things we finally decided on these vocals and this track!! which is a banger!

So those are the tracks ive made recently,
along with this ive also finally started my new youtube tutorials, my next set will be focusing on Drum & Bass, and it will be available to watch sometime after Christmas!! :)

Im doing a FREE, thats right another FREE!!! EP, just in time for Christmas/
On here will be 6 (i think... maybe more) tracks from Moombahton to Moombahcore to Dubstep to House... literally anything and everything haha!
So make sure you check that out!

just writing as its been quite a while since i last did, ive been pretty busy fighting crime, drinking baileys and eating Nandos but i thought id just stop for 5 and give you the lowdown of what ive been doing!
So first of all MUSIC
I've been working on quite a lot of tracks both original and remixes, and also i've been diving into the world of complextro too and seeing what i can do with that genre,
so ive got a few new tracks for you to check out!
The first 3 entries where made to be entered into a competition (i didn't win the diplo one sadly!) and the final one is an original track!

This track is a nice little track it starts off as Moombahcore and then has a cheeky Dubstep drop halfway through!
I didn't win this competition so this track will be given out for free (keep reading!)

This is more of an Electro/Complextro type track, i initially made it dubstep but i didn't think it suited the vocals so i dropped it down to 128 and this is the outcome!

This is a nice dubstep banger, the vocals were that good i needed to do something HUGEE! so i worked my ass off on this remix on getting everything sounding perfect and crisp!

1 on 1 tutoring and more!!
So I've been talking about this for some time and i am finally getting around to doing it, I'm going to be doing 1 on 1 tutoring.
Basically if you live close enough you can come to my studio or i can come to yours (whichever seems easier) or if you live no where near, thats not a problem i would be doing my tutoring online via Skype or Teamviewer.
The way it would work would be like this, we would discuss what it is you would like to learn, say for example you wanted to learn 'how to make Dubstep basses in Massive' i would make a plan of how i am going to teach you for the hour, taking note of what it is you want to learn exactly, then in the lesson you would be able to communicate with me directly either via microphone (if you have one) or via typing as I tutor you in realtime, so instead of having to wait around for me to reply to Youtube comments I'd be able to help you there and then.
The 1 on 1 sessions can either be for 1 hour or 2 hours, and i will also be doing bundles (basically teaching you how to remix tracks, how to make full tracks from start to finish etc...)
Aswell as this i know people don't tend to have that much time to themselves so i am also going to be doing personalised tutor videos for people, that's personalised videos on a chosen subject, so with this i would gather all the relevant information i need from you, what it is you want to learn and then i would do a video specifically aimed at yourself and send it to you either via email or through the post so that you can watch it whenever you can.
Although this is aimed at tutoring i will be doing collaboration/production work and remix work too, if you have a track that you would really liked remix at an affordable price then you just let me know what sort of remix and i will create a remix of your chosen genre, If you have a track that you are halfway through but can't seem to finish i can help you with that or even if you just want to make something completely from scratch using my expertise.... then we can do that also!
